Chapel Petrassi's Donald Table is a tribute to Donald Judd and his research into the relationship between sculpture and space. Handcrafted in Italy in lacquered wood, the multifunctional table consists of a truncated cone that supports a round top with three semicircular flaps—ideal for resting drinks. Measuring 140 x 140 x 77.5 cm, this design is an open edition made to order, available in a range of colors.
Based in Paris and Naples, Chapel Petrassi was founded by designers Marie-Charlotte Bassi and Diego Petroso. This contemporary design and production atelier specializes in handcrafted furniture, including special commissions for galleries and bespoke projects for residential and commercial interiors.
The duo met while studying in Rome. Beginning in 2011, they began to travel around Europe for various assignments and artistic residencies, including at the American Academy in Rome in 2014. These experiences inspired their desire to build a project together dedicated to the creation of contemporary furniture that’s defined by a fusion of craftsmanship and artistic expression, with a youthful spirit and a serious attention to detail.
Chapel Petrassi was a finalist for the 2016 AD Design Award in Berlin and received an award from ICFF Studio in New York in 2019. The atelier’s collections have been exhibited at the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale, Helsinki Design Museum, FuoriSalone in Milan, and Galerie Le French Design by VIA in Paris.
