Carlo Mollino designed this desk for the Lattes Publishing House circa 1953. It is one of only five examples ever produced. It is also one of the first Carlo Mollino pieces that Rossella Colombari acquired in 1983, along with the entire furnishings of the Lattes Publishing House. It was sold by Colombari to a private collector at the time. Now, after nearly 35 years, the piece was reacquired by the gallery from the same collector. The design has been widely published in Carlo Mollino monographs.
Born in Turin, Mollino (1905-1973) was an architect, designer, and photographer who was highly influential on the history of Italian design. He was also a singular talent.
