Unique finger ring literally in the form of a digit is made in 20ct yellow gold and with a 18ct white gold nail, on an adjustable plain shank that bears the engraved signature of the artist. A sculptor who worked stone, Martinazzi is best remembered for his bi-coloured gold jewels that depict body parts, which became more stylised over time. This finger ring belonged to the great Dutch collector Ida Boelen van Gelder who always demanded unique examples from the artists and designers she patronised. Exhibited: Scultura Aurea, Gioielli d'Artista per un nuovo Rinascimento (Palazzo Ducale, Urbino 2019).
