Bethan Laura Wood's Totem Lamps are composed of interlocking Pyrex elements stacked together in totem-like forms. The collection is an extension of Wood's Entwined Lights, made in collaboration with Seguso Glass. Exploiting the transparency and thinness of Pyrex, as well as the material’s traditional applications, the Totem Collection incorporates forms associated with tools of the medical and chemical professions while also calling to mind ancient ziggurat architectures.
A graduate of the Royal College of Art, Wood is a London-based designer known for her distinct approach to materials, color, and pattern. Her work can be found in the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum, Wellcome Collection, and Abet Laminati Museum.
