Audrey Large's FAR Metabowl #2 Vase is part of the designer's growing Implicit Surfaces project, which includes a related collection edited by Nilufar. The surface of 3D models are hand-sculpted using a pencil on a graphic tablet. A bas relief brimming with different signs and shadows appears as a direct consequence of the spontaneous movements of the designer’s hand. This design is available as a limited edition of 7 + 2AP—yet each sculptural piece is unique thanks to the virtual hand-making process. The price excludes taxes, shipping, and crating.
Born in France and based in the Netherlands, Large graduated cum laude from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2017 with an MA in Social Design. She uses motion capture and motion tracking technology—most commonly used in visual effects cinema, animation, video games to animate 3D characters—as a raw material for object design.
