Published by Jousse-Entreprise in 2016, this 256-page book is the first devoted to the ceramic furniture and objects of André Borderie (1923-1998)—a French artist also known for his sculptures and tapestries. In the mid-1950s, Borderie was inspired by artists Pierre and Vera Szekely to work in ceramic. This fascination only grew over time. The text is in both French and English.
In the 1980s, Philippe Jousse led the rediscovery of midcentury French masters like Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, Alexandre Noll, Jean Royère, Mathieu Matégot, Pierre Jeanneret, Georges Jouve, and Serge Mouille. Today the two Jousse-Entreprise galleries carry forward this specialty alongside works of contemporary art and design.
