Portuguese illustrator Ana Aragão has donated Hrönir, a one-of-a-kind, signed illustration composed of pen and watercolor on paper.

Known for works that exist comfortably between architecture and illustration, reality and fiction, Aragão describes her contribution as follows: “My hrönir are small, strange investigations into the necessity of creating forms. Ideally, [over time,] the collection would bring together all forms, each of them manifested in all colors, and therefore would create a general theory, an inventory of everything.”

Aragão is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture of Porto University (FAUP, 2009) and won a scholarship to pursue a doctorate in the Department of Architecture of the University of Coimbra (2011-2014). Her architectural studies gave rise to her fascination for drawing cities, both real and imaginary. Recent major projects include illustrations for the Portuguese entry (Homeland) in the 2014 Venice Biennale, her selection by Luerzer's Archive as one of the "200 Best Illustrators Worldwide” (2014), as well as collaborations with Vista Alegre, Porto Barros, Tapeçarias Ferreira de Sá, Jofebar, Centro Cultural de Belém, and Casa da Memória de Guimarães, among others.
