One of a kind presentational sterling silver centrepiece and candelabrum, comprising three parts: a large rectangular tray with central rectangular depression into which fits a removable outer frame with twelve raised flat squares and eight lower ones for candles,and an inner row of three. Made by Wakely and Wheeler London for Garrard and hallmarked for 1965. Alex Styles, once described as, “,the finest designer of hand-made silver in England,” was the chief designer for Garrard, the Crown Jewellers, for 40 years and on his retirement in 1987 Styles was given a retrospective exhibition at the Goldsmiths’ Hall.
