This hand-carved cherry wood console was designed by Aldo Bakker for Galerie Vivid in 2014. The concept is simple: two legs and a surface; the legs are an elongation of the line created by the tabletop. This design is available in an edition of 8. Vivid presented a second version of the same console in fiberglass at Design Miami/ 2019. Son of jewelry designer Emmy van Leersum and conceptual designer and Droog co-founder Gijs Bakker, Aldo Bakker is a Dutch visual artist and designer whose work spans jewelry, industrial design, and intricate artisanally produced one-offs. His work is characterized by a delicate sense of harmony, tactility, texture, and materiality.
