ACdO's Riad Side Tables are made through a process related to traditional hydraulic tile production. These concrete tiles emerged in Mediterranean Europe in the early 20th century as an industrial response to old mosaic floors. The graphic patterns on the Riad Side Tables are inspired by traditional motifs found from the Alhambra of Granada to the Great Mosque of Damascus.
Riad tabletops are made of concrete, supported by stainless steel legs and rubber feet. Measuring 45 x 45 x 50 cm, these tables are an open edition, available in a range of colors.
ACdO is the platform from which the studio of Alvaro Catalán de Ocón produces and distributes some of his most personal designs. This close relationship between designing and making facilitates the freedom to experiment and try new projects that would otherwise not be realized.
ACdO's approach maximizes honesty in processes and materials in order to offer the highest quality and durability. ACdO is committed to producing locally, using both high-end industrial and specialized artisanal techniques.
