From 4th to 14th November 2021 Poliform will sponsor Design Miami / Podium x Shanghai, the first edition of the collectible design event in Asia organized by Design Miami.

The new format that takes place at No. 1 Waitanyuan - a celebrated venue located at the northern edge of the Bund - aims to connect international and local design collectors, experts and enthusiasts. The exhibition explores the concept of Wu Gan: The Art of Design

With the aim to follow the theme of the exhibition and to highlight the connection between objects and environments and the aesthetic, emotional, and spiritual experiences they impart , Poliform takes part to Design Miami / Podium x Shanghai with an installation dedicated to the photographic project “Time, Light, Space”: an exclusive body of work created by photographer Paolo Roversi in his journey into Poliform design and history.

Following the same concept presented at Supersalone in Milan, the project, realized inside the Exhibition Hall, includes an artistic installation, highly engaging for visitors, allowing them to “experience” the representation through an immersive gallery of images and videos stimulating a variety of senses rather than simply looking at a static object.

The Exhibition Hall, that also hosts the Design Talks, is entirely furnished with Poliform products like the iconic Mad Chairs and Mad Queen by Marcel Wanders Studio and the new Saint-Germain sofa and Orbit coffee tables by Jean-Marie Massaud.

The participation of Poliform to Design Miami / Podium x Shanghai aims to understand and dialogue with Chinese collectors, curators, audiences, designers and clients, listing different voices and introducing the company in a new way.

About “Time, Light, Space”
The book, published by Rizzoli, is the story depicted in images of a unique way of living, founded from the evolution of an artisan company in 1970 and which has grown to become a benchmark for contemporary furniture, spreading the culture of know-how and Italian design excellency all over the world.

The title of the book mentions time, light and space: these are the founding elements of photography and design, their essence. This is not coincidental. The search for an absolute synthesis, for radical simplicity is, in fact, what unites the work of Paolo Roversi, one of the most eminent Italian artists and author of images that have now entered the history of photography, and the driving force behind the planning of Giovanni Anzani, Aldo Spinelli and Alberto Spinelli in their constant re-interpretation of the living space.

But Time, Light, Space is nothing like a catalogue: it is more a genuine journey into the world of Poliform that condenses years of innovation, challenges and encounters into the images of its products. They say that seeing oneself through the eyes of another is one of the most difficult things to do. After 50 years, Poliform has decided to do just that, recounting its timeless values - love for work, respect for quality and dedication to excellence - in the universal language of photography.
