Joseph Walsh Studio presents Gestures sculpture & Magnus ll Dining Table

The Magnus II dining table, Gestures II sculpture, Enignum II locus chairs displayed are recent unique commissions, which mark the completion of the studio’s most ambitious pieces yet. The table shown at Design Miami/ Basel is the second of three rare, limited edition Magnus tables in Ash. A remarkable feat of engineering, the Enignum sculpture and Magnus table uses cantilevering to create an illusion of weightlessness and purity of form. A rare chance to experience a suite of commissions from a private collection, shared publicly with the generosity of their owner; the work represents the studio's latest responses to materials and architectural spaces.

About Joseph Walsh Studio/

Joseph Walsh (b. 1979-) is from County Cork on the Southern coast of Ireland. Cork is where Joseph Walsh Studio and workshop were founded by Walsh at age twenty and is where the studio remains; a nexus for craft, design and material knowledge.

Walsh’s significant early commissions for various ecclesiastical clients, the Embassy of Japan and the National Museum of Ireland, to acquisition of his work by international collections have cemented his position as an international ‘master maker’. Most recently, his commissions have included the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and Chatsworth House, UK.
